The Texas Department of Transportation has an opening for an
archaeologist. The position is based in Austin, Texas and is a
full-time, permanent position. The work involves conducting research,
analysis, and field investigations to ensure the environmental
compliance of transportation projects. The position affords
opportunities to make substantive contributions to the Department’s
archaeology program and requires independent work. To be considered for
this position, the applicant must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s
Professional Qualifications Standards for an archaeologist. The closing
date for this job is September 17, 2007.
