It is the old saying, "What good is it if it can't be discovered during my
lifetime?" I recall former Secretary of Interior James Watt stating that
everything had to be exploited in his lifetime or it had no value if he did not
see it. Watt later clarified that he shared a religious belief that our world
will not last long and that what was here needed to be used now, as he foresaw
no future. Crazy, I know, but there are a lot of people who are incapable of
looking to the future in a rosy light. I believe this is what is motivating
the treasure hunting.
