The "Ancient Californians: Rancholabrean Hunters of the Mojave Lakes 
Country." I Los Angeles Natural History Museum, 1978, did not include the site report 
nor the Uranium Thorium data Emma Lou Davis prepared for the trench cut in the 
mound discussed in my post yesterday. The 1978 publication was a broad review 
of eight years of survey, mapping, and discoveries around Lake Cahuilla. Emma 
Lou Davis did, in fact, attempt to publish her manuscript on the trench work 
and I think the title was something like, "How to Kill, Butcher, and Prepare 
Mammoth For Consumption." My point was that academia controls what gets 
published and if the data does not fit preconceived ideas, there are some people who 
can squash publication. Davis' paper was squashed and it hurt her feelings. 
Worse, we are still victimized by not having that work in print.
