I heard Laredo perform only once, in 1990 in San Francisco. It was
an exceptional recital, principally of pieces she was associated with:
Scriabin "Black Mass", the Barber Sonata, and Ravel's La Valse. She did
something I've never encountered since. She played Ravel's Valses Nobles
et Sentimentales, then without a pause for applause, went into La Valse
-- it worked wonderfully well. She was a fine player and I'm glad I
still have all her Scriabin and Rachmaninoff LPs to revisit.
