World Premiere of Jubilation by Brian Wilbur Grundstrom to be Performed
by George Washington University Orchestra on November 19 in Washington
DC
Brian Wilbur Grundstrom's Jubilation! - Dance for Orchestra will be
given its World Premiere by the George Washington University Orchestra,
Nancia D'Alimonte, Music Director, as part of the group's concert on
Sunday, November 19 - 3:00 PM at the University's Lisner Auditorium,
21st and H Streets, NW in Washington. DC.
Other works on the program include Mozart's Overture to The Magic Flute
and Beethoven's Symphony No. 6.
Jubilation! (composed in 2000) is an exciting dance in 5/4 for
full orchestra, with a large, energetic ending. The 8:45 work
can be heard online in a Vienna Symphonic Library realization at

Grundstrom's second World Premiere in less than a month, the first having
been the Trinity Chamber Orchestra and Music Director Richard Fazio's
performance of Before the Fall! on October 15 at St. Ann's Catholic
Church in Washington DC.

The George Washington University Orchestra, conducted by Nancia D'Alimonte,
performs a wide array of music including current as well as traditional
orchestral repertoire, often featuring soloists from within the ensemble,

Brian Wilbur Grundstrom obtained a BA in music from Gettysburg College
and an MBA in Arts Administration from SUNY Binghamton. He studied piano
performance with Michael Matsinko, Serge Petitgirard, and Walter Ponce,
and composition with Dexter Weikel and Fred Speck. He has twice been a
finalist in the Composer's Guild Composition Competition, and was awarded
an American Composers Forum's Performance incentive fund with Pianist
Craig Randal Johnson. Mr. Grundstrom has served on the Council for the
New York Chapter of the American Composers Forum since 1996. Previously
a Programmer in Information Technologies for the Brooklyn Academy of
Music, Brian lives in Washington, DC and is now a Database Administrator
for the Washington National Opera. He continues composition studies
with John David Earnest. Brian sang with the New York City Gay Men's
