I've often wondered about finding chilled, dew-covered bees in flowers in
the morning. In my area, they are very commonly found in Grindelia.
When I've checked back later in the day, they were gone. Perhaps they were
older bees that simply couldn't get their flight muscles warmed up due to
the dropping temperature. My surprise is if they survived the nightime
chill, and later were able to fly again.
