Herve Blandin asks concerning inexpensive labels offering concert
performances:
>Anyhow, how do you feel about collecting such labels as far as music
>and concerts represented, has it been worth it?
I think it's easily worth it. The Aura label has been particularly
rewarding for me - Arrau, Haskil, Gilels, Anda, Michelangeli, etc., and
the sound has been no problem at all to my ears. I believe that Aura
releases cost about the same as a Naxos disc, so the expenditures are
small. BBC recordings can also be very rewarding, but their cost is
generally at the premium level. Aura is a collector's delight, and
readers should investigate the releases. I don't think you'll be
disappointed.
