Salary: $36,671 to $47,669 per year (ANT-0671)

NOTE: Position is temporary not-to-exceed 2 years with a possibility of
a 1 yr extension if funding is available. This is an intermittent work
schedule.

DUTIES: The incumbent will provide technical and research support to
assist with collections documentation and identification, to create and
maintain databases, and to provide other general research assistance to
and support for the current Chair of Anthropology (an archaeology
curator). The primary duties of this position are: (1) To gather
collections data and archival information from databases and published
reports; (2) to create and maintain database(s) for collections and
research information, and (3) to provide general research assistance to
archaeology curator. Searches and gathers collections records,
associates collections data with specimens, uses associated data to
enter into databases. Edits, corrects, updates, queries, and adds to
database records. Creates and maintains database(s) for archaeological
collections and field research-related information. Carries out routine
and special duties connected with anthropological/archaeological methods
of analysis, such as cataloguing and identifying collections, reviewing
information for preparation of maps, laboratory and library-based
accumulation of information. As requested by curator, may conduct
literature searches and compile bibliographic information; collect and
record collections data relevant to curatorial research areas.
