The mda (used to be called the museum documentation association, but
decided it didn't just work with museums, wasn't just about
documentation, and wasn't an association, so changed its name to 'mda')
has lots of on-line fact-sheets on marking and labelling. Also a new
dvd on the subject: www.mda.org.uk (I think - or possibly www.mda.org -
the other one is the muscular dystrophy association).

Some of the items mentioned may need 'translating' into other
legislatures/terminologies.

Cheers,

Pat
