Hi All,

Below is a copy of the e-mail I received from Chris Weide. This serial publication seems to be the coming way of dealing with huge databases of material.

I bought the first volume in this series, and it has little about actual bottles. It is about local soda bottlers and the brands they carry. An appendix (although they do not use that word) is about discontinued brands of soft drinks. It includes the initiation date of the drink and approximate dates when it phased out.

The information on each company is brief, certainly because of the breadth of the project. Until the two authors retire, they hope to get out one volume ca. every 18 months. They chose two states with small numbers of bottlers for their first volume to minimize the errors while they learned how to approach this gigantic undertaking.

If they go from east to west, those of us on the left side of the country will have a long wait.

Bill
