This would be a lot easier with a photo Jim. As Roberta Greenwood said (and adding to it), many people mistake imported Jackfield for domestic black glazed redware. Jackfield is higher fired, with a more refined body that is often grey to purplish. BGRW has a lower fired orange-ish body. Buckley ware would have streaks of poorly mixed white clay in the body lijke agateware. They date to about the same time period, but have much different stories to tell.
