      Position Description:

 Brevard Community College is currently seeking applications for the
full-time position of Outreach Coordinator on the Titusville Campus in
Titusville, Florida. 

          Salary & Benefit:

 The annual salary is $32,000 and considers relevant credentials and
experience.  Full-time employees of Brevard Community College receive
fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.  This
position is Externally Funded. 

Position Concept:

The Coordinator will assist the Director of the East/Central Region of
the Florida Public Archaeology Network with public relations, the
development and management of outreach programs, and the establishment
of collaborative relationships between the Center and the public in
east/central Florida (local and county governments, students,
volunteers, civic groups). 

Minimum Qualifications:

 The minimum qualifications for the positions include: 

* Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Public Relations, Communications,
or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

* Background in archaeology; Register of Professional Archaeologists
certification preferred.

* Three years professional experience.

* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

* Excellent computer skills with experience with computerized
information systems to include Microsoft Word.

* Ability to work independently.

* Courteous manner in dealing with the public.

* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of
people.

* Willingness to travel extensively in east/central Florida and
occasionally to other parts of the state.

* Detail and multi-task oriented.

* Ability to access multi-storied buildings, multiple-level staircases,
outdoor and natural sites (including archaeological sites). 

* Official transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be
considered beyond the application phase*

*All foreign degrees must be submitted with an official translation and
evaluation. Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent
directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office
prior to the first day of employment. 

Notes:

Applications will be accepted from June 22, 2007 through July 6, 2007;
however, the College reserves the right to extend or conclude searches
without notice.  Applications must be submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. on
the closing day.

to beginning work. All employees of Brevard Community College must
undergo fingerprinting for the purpose of conducting a criminal history
check. A $50 non-refundable fingerprint processing fee will be collected
by payroll deduction upon the beginning of employment.
