Sugar is sucrose which the bees break down (somewhat) to fructose and
glucose. Nectar is sucrose, fructose and glucose with one or more sugar
predominate.
Not quite sure how feeding bees sugar syrup in the spring as a
supplemental feed contaminates honey since some flowers are
predominantly sucrose. But I will post those flowers with no trespassing
signs to keep my bees away so they do not contaminate my honey.
Glad to know that many beekeepers keep supers on all the time, so will
do so this winter. Might get some surplus honey.
I learn so much from this list.
