I agree, a terrific recording, and of particular interest to me as my
teacher, the late Max Gilbert was the principal viola of the Boyd Neel
and is heard to good effect in this disc.  Anyone interested can also
hear him on disc with Kathleen Ferrier in the two Brahms songs (now
available on Naxos 8.111009).  This recording was a particular inspiration
to me when I came to record them myself.
