Do you know the "bateaux po pop" which are a funny model of boats with an amazing system of engine, interesting to learn thermodynamics...

As part of our water exhibit, we used to have pieces for kids to make their own barges. We used wooden blocks, varnished many times, with magnets on the ends. However, this was an incredibly time-consuming and very expensive process, and the boats would wind up mildewy and gross anyway. So we haven't had them in a while, but we miss them.

Does anyone have suggestion for something we can either purchase or make in-house? The exhibit is not staffed so it would need to be fairly intuitive and not involve potentially chokable or otherwise dangerous bits.

many thanks
