I think she is referring to Chris Ofili's work titled "The Holy 
Virgin Mary;" - a depiction of a black Madonna adorned with elephant 
dung and sexually-explicit photos- that was deemed by New York's 
Mayor Rudolph Giuliani "anti-Catholic."
