Wendy, hi!  I hope you sre thriving.

Ref. XFR:  in case it is of aby interest to 
you, I wrote the following to Eric Segal
 yesterday:

"The trouble with the Future of 
Reading exhibit was that most 
of it was written on the walls
surrounding the interactives.  
There were 3 or four inter-
active units, including the 
one described, and the tilting 
table which was great.

The exhibit was done by people 
who are used to sitting for hours 
in front  of computer screens, so
that they had no problem in put-
ting tons of words on the moving 
screens.  As you and I know, 
people don't expect to read 
exhibits.

The exhibit got lots of praise be-
cause of the novel interactives, 
but the visiting public spent time 
with the interactives only, while
most of the area of the exhibition
was the large number of panels with
excessive text only.

In some ways, an exhibition about
reading has a rather oxymoronic 
character!"
