Interesting web page, but I'm still not sure how to open the bottles.

Subject: Modern Day Codd Stopper Bottles

If anyone is interested in a modern example of a Codd Stopper bottle,
the Japanese soft drink company Ramune (www.ramune.com.tw) still uses
this type of bottle for some of their drinks. If there is an Asian food
store in your area, they should be available there.
