Don't know if this may help with your situation:

When mixing HFCS with water, I just weigh down an air line into the 
tank, turn on the compressor and let the two liquids mix.

Works a treat.

How this may disolve the sugar crystals, as per. your situation - let me 
know if you try!

Sure causes a lot of agitation.
