Just a genus of bacteria. Some of the species classified
in that genus can be pathogens. Anthrax would be one, B.
cereus, subtlis and some others are also pathogens. Many
just live in the soil and are important in bioremediation
projects. Some folks consider thuringiensis a useful
species. The list is pretty varied.
