While I agree wholeheartedly with John Bowditch that intuitive
interfaces are the best, sometimes the easiest way to "fix" an
interactive exhibit that visitors just don't "get" is to change the
label!
Sometimes text that seems quite clear to staff is impenetrable to
visitors.
