Hello everyone!
I need your help for an upcoming board meeting. I've been asked "What's Hot
in Science Centers?" So, I'm wondering what you think is 'hot' in science
centers now. Is IMAX, digital projection, live animals, real posed human
specimens (ala the travelling exhibits), better interactives, virtual
reality, object theater, live science theater, customized web-based
experiences, pod-casting, small group demos, week-long classes, aquariums,
martini nights, kids-camps or what???
So that's the general question that I would like you to answer. More
specifally...
In your view, either in your museum or other museums.
1) What exhibits, programs and experiences are hot right now - in other
words, what do visitors get hyped up about, and what helps drive attendance?
2) What exhibits, programs and experiences are the future of science centers
- what will be hot in the next 5-10 years down the line?
3) What exhibits, programs, experiences or practices are dying out.in other
words what's gone cold in Science Centers?
4) What technologies are hot in science centers now, and what technologies
are getting hotter (is it IMAX, digital projection, on-line giving,
podcasting, or..what)?
Thanks in advance!
