Wow! I'm still trying to resolve "existential angst" with my VERY Victorian
grandparents. I always assumed (dangerous!) that time capsules were
elaborated versions of building cornerstones. I think the Masons were
devoted to them, and so assume these were in use at least in the 18th
century, if not before. Anyone know the history of hollow cornerstones with
deliberately added contents?
