Fellow Histarchers,

I am looking for reports of or information on archaeological examples or historic ruins of horse whims. I have the fragmented remains of a horse whim structure that was constructed on a snow field in Chilkoot Pass, Klondike Gold Rush NHP. This particular whim was used in the winter to haul freight on a sledge up a steep slope of the pass, so it is being used in a non-mining capacity. I have searched the web and found a few arch examples (i.e. circular features) in the UK and reconstructed versions in Australia and the US, but I am looking for reports where people have found these types of structures in their archaeological surveys or histroic structures reports so I have a feel of how many are out there. Thanks, Andy Higgs.
