Jeanne (and anybody else interested),

I've placed a Zip-file containing images of the 5 original U.S. Patents 
(dated 5 Feb 1850 - 24 Aug 1869), that best illustrate the development of 
this type of LRI, that is, glass insulators held in place with a circular 
metal mounting flange with lugs for screws or nails, here:
