Yes, Sir. I have indeed signed several Code of Ethics statements.

Nowhere was an imperative to educate misguided relic hunters spelled out explicitly in these documents, but I think it follows from the spirit of the code and the general principles of good citizenship.

Artifact fetishism is a serious aspect of the problem. We need to reframe the debate in terms of accumulating knowledge for the collective benefit of society, not as a struggle over who gets the artifacts. That is a key lesson.

That's a somewhat "extended" reading of the Code of Ethics but, I think, in accord with its fundamental principles.
