James Carson writes of the Goldberg Variations:
>Feltsman on MusicMasters, which is not only tastefully ornamented
>but uses some octave displacements in the repeats which make the
>performance (to my taste) still more engaging. Currently, to the
>best of my knowledge, unavailable.
Different strokes for different folks. For me, those Feltsman octave
displacements, where he uses the highest notes the piano has to offer,
are very damaging. They sound precious and prissy to these ears. But
I do remember that some of his variations were outstanding. As for
availability, I also don't think the disc is in print.
