Paul MacKay inquired as to the identity of two individuals mentioned
in John Culshaw's Ring Resounding.  I'm very glad that PM has asked
this question.  I read Culshaw's book last fall with great interest -
and had scribbled myself a note to post the same inquiry to our vastly
knowledgeable members...  but got sidetracked (story of my life).
