Well, I like the Stokowski transcriptions, especially the Toccata and Fugue
in D minor.  They're so campy, they're good (I am not saying, "they're so
*bad*, they're good").  I have Sawallich's disc of transcriptions, EMI
24355 55922.  I get great enjoyment from this disc, listening to it about
twice a year.  At least Stokowski had a vision, which is more than can be
said for a lot of artists.

Have Listers ever heard those orchestral versions of certain Chopin
pieces?  Now *there's* bad taste!
