Shawn Frayne, a 28 year old inventor from Mountain View, California
has come up up with a low-cost wind-powered generator that does not
use turbines, but instead a vibrating belt.
He was inspired by the infamous collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge!
Follow this link: <http://blog.orselli.net/2008/02/windbelts-great-
energy-exhibit-idea.html> for more information, videos, and a set of
simple instructions to create your own "Windbelt" suitable for
exhibit use.
Have fun!
