Actually, let me make another recommendation. Another book I published,
but am no longer the publisher of (in case you think I'm using this
forum exclusively as a sales channel): Nathaniel Kohn's Pursuing
Hollywood, 2006, AltaMira. Kohn is a communication researcher at U
Georgia, but landed there only after an attempted career in Hollywood.
His ethnography of Hollywood life is frightening for any of you
thinking of trying it. Among other stories in the book: he wrote the
script for, and then produced, the classic "Zulu Dawn," which is a
priceless colonialist tale.
