Dear Colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to an exciting job opportunity in
Surrey. We are looking for a to raise public awareness of the past in
Surrey through helping to deliver a new web resource - Exploring
Surrey's Past. The website, and this post, are funded by the Heritage
Lottery Fund and other partners.

Exploring Surrey's Past is a keystone for Surrey Heritage, a new service
based at the Surrey History Centre in Woking. Surrey Heritage brings
together archives, local studies libraries, museum development and
archaeology specialists to work in partnership to ensure the stewardship
of Surrey's cultural heritage, and access for all to the opportunities
for learning and enjoyment which it provides.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with excellent IT and
communication skills to prepare and co-ordinate the creation of
materials using Surrey’s substantial existing records (in the SMR,
museums and archives), develop online resources, and engage local
communities through an outreach programme.

Please note that there is a very close deadline: 22nd May. But
application is by cv and letter, and can be done by email. Please visit
http://tinyurl.com/ngq9x or visit the www.jobsgopublic.com website -
where that tiny url will take you.

There are other jobs within Surrey Heritage also being advertised on
jobsgopublic, but these may be filled internally, so please contact
Maggie or Myself before applying for anything we are not publicising in
this way.

If you would like to talk informally about the post, or any other aspect
of Surrey Heritage, please do contact us (the job will be line managed
by the Heritage Conservation Team Manager, but this post is currently
vacant, and will work closely with the Sites and Monuments Record
Officer (Emily Brants) who is currently on leave).

Apologies for cross-posting.

With best wishes,

Pat
