Speaking of "Wilderness Areas," The Bureau of Land Management is busy
stripping away wilderness area status from areas of the Sawtooth Range of the
Laguna Mountains, near Anza-borrego Desert State Park and the Table Mountain
Historic District, Jacuma, California. This change in status has allowed and
encouraged wind farmers to apply for NEPA exempt windfarms with fields of towers
that are 30-stories high. While that might sound good for weaning off
petrochemicals, the laydown and construction area below those towers is very
destructive due to grading.
