CALL FOR PAPERS (volumes 1 and 2)
Published by Brill Academic Publishers
Volume 1 to appear August 2005 (submission deadline 1st January 2005)
Volume 2 to appear May 2006 (submission deadline 1st June 2005)
Fields of interest include battlefield archaeology and all other types of
military archaeology as well as the archaeology of industrial and popular
protest, contested landscapes and monuments, colonial contact, class
conflict, the origins of conflict, forensic applications in war-zones and
human rights issues etc.
The journal will carry papers on current research, subject and period
overviews, fieldwork and excavation reports - interim and final reports,
artefact studies, scientific applications, technique evaluations, conference
summaries, book reviews etc.
Potential contributors should provide the editors with a brief abstract (c.
200 words) of their proposed submission. Our guide to format, text and
illustration conventions and other submission requirements is now available
on application.
Volume 2 (appearing May 2006) will be themed toward the archaeology of WWI
for up to 50% of its content. Volume 1 will however be un-themed and provide
a cross section of the various types of research currently being undertaken
in the field of conflict archaeology.
Deadlines
Final submissions for volume 1, including all illustrations, will be 1st
January 2005, with the volume appearing in August 2005. Peer review will
take place between January and March.
Final submissions for volume 2, including all illustrations, will be 1st
June 2005, with the volume appearing in May 2006. Peer review will take
place between June and August.
