A very nice concert yesterday night (6th of March) at the Cite de la
Musique in Paris. If you happen to come to Paris (it's in France...), go
there (Cite de la Musique in the Parc de la Villette), concerts are usally
very good and inexpensive ; the atmosphere is very friendly, which is not
the case in every concert location in Paris.
Yesterday, Pierre Boulez conducted two orchesters: the Ensemble
Intercontemporain (which he founded in 1977) playing Schonberg: Chamber
Symphony n1 (op9), 3 Pieces for Chamber Orchestra - two minutes of delight!
- and the Lied der Waldtaube (from the Gurrelieder) Yvonne Naef signing ;
and the Philharmonia Orchestra playing the Ruckert Lieder of Mahler (Yvonne
Naef signing again) and the Variations for Orchester (op31) of Schonberg.
As far as I know these 5 pieces are not often recorded. Do some of you
have any suggestions about good recordings, especially of the marvellous
Ruckert Lieder?
