And I heard her play it live in Winnepeg while her father watched. My
plane had been late and I had to run into the concert hall to sit down
just as the music started. It's ethereality melted out all my accumulated
tensions from the travel. She and her father, from what I understand,
had a stormy relationship, and this concerto was a love offering. I think
it's his masterpiece.
