Hi Michele,

Carolina Biological has a really inexpensive DNA isolation activity kit
for (1) fruit (strawberries), and (2) human cheek cell using gatorade

I think both kits are still under $40, a lot cheaper than BioRad and
some of the other biotech kit companies.

But for DNA isolation educational activites, most supplies can be
purchased very inexpensively at grocery stores (especially for fruit
isolations which yields globs of visible DNA)--> cheesecloth, spooling
rods, plastic cups, the fruit, salt, meat tenderizer, plastic baggies,
etc; the cold ethanol is the only supply that can't be purchased at the
groc store, though replacements could be located at a liquor store!

Does anyone have a great biotech/DNA kit that the send out for use in
classrooms? I am looking for an inventory of what is in the kit, budget
and any curriculum guidelines that might go with it.
