ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
GlobalWarmingMuseum.net is currently filling in its
A-Z listings of science centers and museum leaders
around the world with programs related to climate
change science.
We want to make sure we don't miss what you have.
We're going through the web sites of about 100 science
museums now, compiling exhibits, hands-on
demonstrations & activities, events, science fairs,
films, curriculum, teacher training, outreach, web
based education, and more.
GlobalWarmingMuseum.net will cover education programs
related to global warming SOLUTIONS as well, including
these topics: energy, transportation, food and
agriculture choices, forests, green buildings,
sustainability and recycling. Global Warming
intersects with so many subjects: paleoclimate of
earth's history, physics, biodiversity, oceans, air
quality too -- programs which recognize the
interconnections are to be listed.
This portal website will serve two audiences:
1.) Science museum staff and volunteers. Exhibit
developers. Science research education programs,
partners and funders. Encouraging collaboration,
sharing of experience, expanded partnerships.
2.)Teachers, schools, families, the media, and general
public -- people looking for global warming science
education available in their area.
The site is specifically intended to be at the service
of the ASTC's IGLO project and its members and
partners.
====================
As the site expands, we'll list programs/museums from
many angles: by geographic location/region; type of
program (e.g. exhibit, school otreach..., topics
(energy, space science, chemistry, natural
history...), languages (not just English). Also will
be listings of partners (IPY, NASA, NOAA, PBS, ESA,
Nature -- long list), plus resources that can aid your
programs.
====================
GlobalWarmingMuseum.Net is a project of
ClimateChangeEducation.Org, an organization and
website founded by science center docents and interns
in California. We are now mainly based at the
University of California, Berkeley -- most of our
members are students, staff and scientists there.
As science center volunteers, we've been focusing on
climate change education, working alongside staff
since the year 2000.

By looking at our initial A-Zoos lists, you'll see if
we are currently aware of you. If we've missed you
entirely, please let us know. (With our apologies.)
If we have you listed, please know that our portal
websites specialize in providing links to very
specific programs, linking to multiple webpages -- not
just to your home page. If you have a web page you
don't want missed, by all means write us.
Those of you who will be at the ASTC Conference in
Kentucky are more than welcome to let me know in
person of programs we should cover. I'll see you
there.

If you have a program, but it's one without a webpage
of its own, write us about that too. We may be able
to help you get up on the web. The site is all about
helping to get great programs off the ground.
Thanks, and looking forward to seeing many of you in
Kentucky in a just over a week!
