ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

The ISEN-ASTC community has done so much to promote sharing and mutual help
during its 10+ years, as Jonah and Jeff noted the other day. We're working
on another way to expand and facilitate this sharing, focused on exhibits
and exhibitions -- a collaborative website called ExhibitFiles. The two
basic features of the site will be profiles of registered users, and a rich
body of records about exhibits and exhibitions, which users post. A core
group of contributors and advisors, including members of NAME, have been
helping to develop plans and are committed to posting initial records (many
of ASTC's own traveling exhibitions will also be documented). NSF is
supporting this work. We want to make sure everyone who's interested has an
opportunity to contribute ideas and suggestions during the planning period,
so we've opened a blog where we're posting planning documents, and where
anyone can comment. One of the documents that might interest you is an
analysis of postings from this listserv during two months last year. Please
check it out and let us know what you think.
