In astronomy the term evolution is also used to mean life cycle. The
term stellar evolution generally refers to the life cycle of stars,
though there are also generation differences too, which has to do in the
simplest description with earliest generation stars being low metal
(i.e. everything but hydrogen & helium) and the most recent generations
being high "metal" abundance stars.
