>The Great Lakes Science Center seeks an experienced education professional to
>oversee the development and daily operations of interpretive programs in the
>Center’s galleries and demonstration spaces. The Manager of Visitor Experiences

>programs, including but not limited to gallery interpretation, science

>Effectively networks with informal science providers, schools, community
>organizations, and Science Center partners to support, grow, and position
>Science Center programs in the region.

>Reviews and monitors national/international trends for gallery programs and
>activities - insuring that the Science Center offers current, relevant and
>engaging programs for all its visitors.
>QUALIFICATIONS:
>Bachelor’s degree in science, education or performing arts preferred. Five to
>seven years of relevant experience with increasing management responsibilities
>for interpretive programs. The successful candidate will have experience in and
>a working knowledge of interpretive and public programs in non-formal
>educational settings and will embrace both performance and science content.
>He/she will have a demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and develop staff and
>have experience managing multiple programs areas and budgets. The Manager must
>have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal
>communication skills. This individual must demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility,

>programs both in and outside the Science Center. The Manager of Camps, Classes,
>and Outreach (Manager) will oversee the expansion of existing and development of
>new programs including but not limited to: summer and holiday camps, overnight
>science camp-ins, science classes & day-trips, and outreach programs to schools
>and community. The Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of
>all fee-based programs insuring quality while meeting revenue goals.
