I recall a bird wing exhibit like the one you describe at the Carnegie
Science Center in Pittsburg. Perhaps someone there might comment? I don't
remember if it was a hummingbird wing pattern specifically, but I too
admired its simple, elegant design. And it was fun to do! (Always a plus in
a science center exhibit!)
