In the notes of her very satisfying recording of this suite, Hilary
Hahn wrote of a moment some years into her recital career: "I...remember
the feeling of revelation... when in the middle of playing the D Minor
Partita I suddenly heard for the first time exactly what was going on
harmonically in the Ciaconna [sic]: it was one of the great insights of
my life."
