Thanks to all of you who responded so quickly to my request for legal info
in our fight with the Kansas Capitol. You'll all be pleased (if you don't
already know) that you can now legally breastfeed in Kansas per bill 2248!
Today I would like to know if anyone has a feeding algorithm to help nurses
determine when to worry if a newborn hasn't fed well. So they can decide
when they MUST supplement (or NOT as the case may be). We have one, but it's
rather complex. We are getting ready to give a mandatory class to staff and
are working on decreasing needless interventions. Any suggestions or
policies/guidelines you could share would be helpful to help change the
frequency of formula introduction.
Thanks in advance! Feel free to email me
