We typically use NEC LCD monitors and have had very good luck with them.
An advantage of LCD's is that the screens face is plastic, rather then
glass as in a plasma screen. We have experienced very little damage to
these screens. I suspect that visitors assume them to be fragile and
treat them accordingly, this surprisingly happens consistently with a
few items. On the other hand with PDP's we usually recommend a Lexan
cover, which needs to be located a couple inches away from the face of
the screen to allow for heat dissipation. Lower heat output and lower
power consumption is another advantage of LCD over PDP.

Hi,

I'm looking for advice about using 40 to 46 inch LCD monitors in
exhibits. The screen will be mounted at eye level. Is there any need
to protect it from physical abuse and damage? - they seem so
fragile. What brands and models have you had success with?

Thanks in advance!
