Journal of Conflict Archaeology

Apologies for cross posting

Volume 2

We are pleased to announce that Volume 2 of the Journal of Conflict
Archaeology is due to appear later this summer - details in the 'Journals'
section on Brill website at: www.brill.nl
The volume is largely devoted to European prehistoric conflict but also
includes several papers on conflict archaeology in Ireland.

Volume 3 - Call for Papers

We would like to invite contributions for volume 3 which will be largely
devoted to twentieth century conflict, though relevant contributions from
other periods will also be considered.

Fields of interest include battlefield archaeology and all other types of
military archaeology as well as the archaeology of industrial and popular
protest, contested landscapes and monuments, colonial contact, class
conflict, the origins of conflict, forensic applications in war-zones and
human rights issues etc.

The journal carries papers on current research, subject and period
overviews, fieldwork and excavation reports - interim and final reports,
artefact studies, scientific applications, technique evaluations, conference
summaries, book reviews etc.

Potential contributors should in the first instance provide the editors with
a brief abstract (c. 200 words) of their proposed submission. A guide to
format, text and illustration conventions and other submission requirements
is available on application (contact email address below).

Submission deadline for full contribution is 30 November 2006
