We seem to drifting away from the subject of HISTARCH, so to get it back on
topic: Has anyone ever found a modern historic period
(i.e. !400-present) cat burial? Also when did the first Pet Cemeteries
appear in the US and elsewhere?

By the way, I have only one cat in my house (named "Osage" as she was
adopted off Osage Avenue). I did have ca. 8 to 9
street cats living on my front porch and four of the females were pregnant.
Fortunately about four weeks ago my new neighbor
got help from the secret "Galactic Cat Population Down Sizing Society" (or
whatever their name is). They came, trapped all
the cats, took them away, got the females abortions, and fixed all of them.
The original idea was that they would all come back
to my porch and I would continue to feed them (a fortune !). However, the
members of the GCPDS - all women by the way -
liked them so much as they were friendly, healthy and well fed, that they
adopted them all except for the "Ancient Grand
Mother" cat. So, now there is ONE cat in my house and one on the front
porch. The Grandmother is a beautiful calico and there
were three or four generations of her offspring on the porch. She was a
kitten machine.

I like both cats and dogs. Also Rick, if "Big Foot" does exist I would also
be in favor of protecting that life form!

P.S. Hitler did love dogs. His dog, "Blondie" I think, died with him in the
Bunker. I can not recall if she took poison or
if she shot herself.
