Freely built comb in UK is most commonly 5.5 mm.

So then the upsizing to be accomplished which had to also
deal with breeding to lock in the necessary traits, as
written about early on in Gleanings in Bee Culture has
succeeded in your area then. 

This should make interesting watching over the coming
years.
