ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

At the RMSC, we offer 3 weeks of Robotics Camp and 2 weeks of Advanced
Robotics Camp for 9-11 year olds during the summer. Kids spend the week
learning about the building and programming and completing various
challenges--Advanced Robotics is more difficult programming and
challenges. We used Lego Mindstorms for the first two years of the program
and last summer we started using Lego NXT. We have spots for 30 kids in
each class and all five classes are usually filled before March 1. Our
instructors are certified teachers (in this case, usually tech teachers
and FIRST Robotics team leaders) and the assistants and volunteers in the
classroom are all kids who are on local FIRST Robotics teams. A FIRST
Robotics team comes in each week to do a demo for the camp and the parents
come in on Friday for an open house.
