  Frank Smekar, Creative Display (Michigan)  shows water very 
effectively in his immersion exhibits for the National Civil War 
Medicine museum in Frederick MD  and, on a smaller scale (in "mud 
puddles")at  the NJ Veterans Museum in East Orange NJ. The illusion 
is so good that I've seen people try to touch  the water.
